Sadat Mohamed Rezk KHATTAB

Dr. Sadat Khattab is an Egyptian Associate Professor and a Visiting Associate Professor at Professor Katahira’s lab. His research focuses on developing bio-economic paradigms through metabolic engineering and biotechnologies, addressing the emerging needs of biofuels and bio-based chemicals derived from lignocellulosic biomass.

His ultimate goal is to scale up these technologies to industrial applications, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the sustainability of the humanosphere. Additionally, he is actively developing and optimizing advanced biomass pretreatment methods to support these bio-economic strategies.
